Student Communications Survey

2017 Student Communication Survey Results

Thank you to all students who filled out the survey. Below are our responses to your feedback along with our takeaways (e.g. apparently no one uses Twitter anymore…).

Written feedback

What should we include more of in the Gist?
  • Tips, fun facts — We are always working on tips relevant to Business School students and things the Business Career Connections team is always giving advice on. Watch out for some videos by the BCC this semester!
  • It’s good the way it is — Well gee thanks!
  • Student spotlights — We try and highlight at least one student story in the News section every time. We’ll keep trying to make that a priority.
  • More events that haven’t been in announcements — We put all the events we know of in the next two week period. We will keep making sure not to miss anything!
  • More GIFs — Expect an unexpected GIF. We’ll leave it at that.
What should we include less of in the Gist?
  • N/A — Most popular answer! So good to hear.
  • Too many events — We try to limit events coming up within the 2 week time period. Sometimes there are just so many going on and we have to be fair and promote them equally. We will share your feedback with many of the event planners and see if we can collaborate more so we have fewer, but more interesting events!
  • I really like the Gist — Aw shucks! We really like you too.
  • Everything’s fine
What else do we need to know about communications?
  • The emails and Facebook are very solid platforms. I’m also enjoying the Instagram posts. — So great to hear! We are always working on our social media game.
  • UCD email is the best. — Hey thanks!
  • It would be nice to have a master calendar on all the events happening around CU Denver. — We are working on this. The best place to go right now is our Facebook events page.
  • Less overall clog of emails. The Gist is fine, but receive tons of fairly useless emails. — We are also working on this. We are actively working with advising, BCC, and other Business School departments to lower the number of invaluable emails. We are also sharing these results with CU Denver and there is a campus-wide push to identify the number of emails being sent out to students.
  • Tell more about scholarship dates. — We agree this is super important! We always try and highlight those dates/deadlines as they come up. We’ll be sure to keep that up and feature it prominently.
  • Flyers are very helpful in the elevators. — We’ll keep them as updated as possible for you.
